Kaumatua Kapa Haka at Te Papa

See more than 300 top Māori performing artists on stage for one special weekend at Te Papa.

On Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 July, eight kaumātua kapa haka groups from around the North Island will perform classic waiata at Te Papa in Wellington to close its Matariki Festival.

Sing along to popular tunes by iconic composers such as Tuini Ngawai, Sir Apirana Ngata and Kohine Ponika, and witness the grace, elegance and humour of some of the country’s most seasoned performers. Entry is free.
