Other Key Initiatives
The New Zealand Māori Tourism Council has aligned its strategic and annual planning to the NZTS2015 and its predecessor NZTS2010. It currently has a number of key projects underway that require continuity to ensure the momentum is not lost with any significant changes that might be occurring across government and/or industry.
MRTO Support:
Through communications including media releases, newsletters, workshop facilitation, meetings and an ongoing relationship that lends support to the work of our MRTOs throughout New Zealand
Living Landscapes:
This project centres around the telling of the regional stories of Maui-Tikitiki-a-Taranga who fished up the North Island (Te Ika a Maui) from the South Island - his waka (Te Waka a Maui) and held in place by the anchor of Stewart Island (Te Punga o te waka o Maui). This project currently involves the production of a family of regional information brochures for distribution via the visitor information network. Each will reflect their part of this story and tie their local operators and businesses through suggested itineraries. These elements will form a core resource for wider use with Tourism New Zealand and offshore trade distribution and education work and development of new itinerary options with our inbound and offshore trade partners. www.livinglandscapes.co.nz
